Altered music box. Step by step tutorial

Hello everyone!

Today I want to share with you my altered music box. May be firstly I have to tell story about this box decoration :) I am huge fan of Harry Potter and one of my friends is fan too :) When I was in Gdansk I bought a music box playing Harry Potter melody.  I decided to decorate it specifically to her. As her "house" is Ravenclaw I decided to make it blue and feather is symbol. This box looks amazing and is really easy to do :) so check my youtube channel to see video :)

Mixed media with violoncello

I really enjoy making cards. Especially for interesting orders. This time I was making card for musician who is playing cello. The interesting fact is that this girl used to be my classmate for several years.

Dear friends! (LT below)

Finally I can share with you my first video tutorial :) This one was made special for Lithuanian crafting shop - Spalvų namai :) In the end of the summer I received some amazing things from them!
First one - Distress crackle paints! OMG they are so amazing! This time I used Brushed Pewter color.
Another one amazing thing is NUVO Embellishment Mousse (spring green). This amazing thing can be used as paint or wax :)

Despite this amazing products there were much more amazing things wHich you will see later :) So my card you can see after Lithuanian post :)

Scrapbooking.lv September Challenge

Hi! Have you seen Scrapbooking.lv September challenge? This time task is to create something in Provence style :)

Firstly I was so excited about this task, I was planning to make card or canvas in purple color... But then I made research and find out that all light colors are suitable for it. While I was making sketch, I saw paper which I bought long ago and it was just BOOM!

Pink, flowers and glitter

I really enjoy creating cards. I guess this is my favorite thing to create. However, creating to the order, usually do not let me do everything as I want. Well, this time I got permission to do everything I want! I just was told that bride loves flowers, pink color and glitters :)

Wedding card (favorite for this summer)

This summer I received quite many orders for wedding cards. This "order" was from my parents :) Of course I was told to make everything as I want. So let me share with you my favorite wedding card :

Let yourself rest

Well, haven't posted here for sometime.

So this time I would like to share with you my mixed media tag. I ordered some prima marketing acrylic paints several weeks ago. And only yesterday I finally created something with emerald green :) Also it was first time when I decided to use 3d mat gel instead of modeling paste. Unfortunately, I do not have any rustic pastes, so to create this look I just added some embossing powder.

Wedding card for travelers

This time I was asked to create wedding card for the very interesting couple. Firstly they get married in Russia (where they actually living), and then here in Lithuania. They were celebrating wedding in the garden near their parents house. I was told that the card shouldn't be really fancy. Also I knew that couple is keen on traveling. Thus I took paper with world map and tried to create really different wedding card. 

For creating texture on the card I used Prima Marketing modeling paste, embossing powder and molds. 

On the first look the card might look to dark for the wedding. However, it is complete different and outstanding.

Vintage card

I cannot name myself romantic person. However, sometimes I really in a mood to create something romantic and vintage. I guess I mentioned in a previous post, that I fell in love with this bird cards. So this time card with bird is without any steampunk elements 😊

Pop up card

For long time I was really inspired to make pop up album. However, I haven't gotten around to make it. Thus, I decided to create really special card for my close friend.

As you can see, I am still obsessed with mixed media. For the background I used just white gesso, structure paste and watercolor paints. My friend loves yellow, so I tried to add it somehow. However, despite the nice cover, the most important thing is inside:

I am really happy to announce that I am officially member of Scrapbooking.lv Design team ✌ I was so happy when I received email with congratulations!

So today I want to present you my first work for scrapbooking.lv. Mostly products I used were bought there. As some may noticed, I really love steampunk, thus I decided to make my first work in that style. Maybe this is so, because I bought gearhead cutting dies there.

Getting ready for Lithuanian Scrappers meeting

This weekend there will be anual Lithuanian scrapbook  lovers meeting. It is my first time there. I feel really excited about that :)))) For this meeting every participant has to prepare handmade present for another. On Sunday we will find out to whom we have to give this handmade present. Kind of Secret Santa, but in spring. So I after I decorate my first box, I decided to decorate one for the present. Unfortunately I run out of my white texture paste so I had to use transparent with glitter. So tecture this time is not so visible. However, I finally received prima texture paste and mat gel! I was dreaming about mat gel since the end of the March, but there was only gloss gel. So despite the fact, that I was sure that my box is finished, this morning I added some mat gel and sequins. Hope that participant who will get this box will like it :)

First box

Today I want share with you with my first decorated box! Firstly I bought a really big heart shaped box :) but I understood that it is better to start with a small one and easier shape. When I was planning to decorate box, I wanted to use black gesso and then decorate it. But I was really afraid that it will be in steam punk style :)  I wanted something completely different! I wanted to make it cute, nice, gentle... Well, for last month I really fall in love with violet color, so I tried to combine it with my favorite turquoise and here is my results!

Brother's B-day

I have younger brother. I cannot say that we are really close, but sometimes it feels like we do. To be honest, while I was creating this card, I wasn't thinking about him. Terrible sister! I was just enjoying doing background, then adding different features... and finally bicycle. I sent picture of card to my parents and they were sure that this card was for my brother :D well, I watched at it and admitted it. It suits him perfect: he loves his bicycle and cannot imagine his live with it.

So now this card is used as a decoration in his room :)

Inspiration is everywhere

Some people prefer to create in silence. However, I prefer to have something on background - music, movies or just talks. Sometimes I find inspiration in music I didn't expect to!

For example this card. I cannot name myself a huge "Leningrad" fan. However, I am listening their songs. And here is my card "Ты просто космос"!

Also I like to watch different movies. To be honest, I can't remember what exactly was playing on the background, but I can guess that it was Once upon a Time :)

Sometimes it is enough to see a great picture to create an unusual card:

So for those who says "I cannot find any inspiration" - look around :)

Steampunk card

One of my favorite styles is steampunk. And once I tried mixed media, I was dreaming to try it with my favorite style. And finally I did it!

Before workshop in Latvia, I bought black gesso (couldn't find any white in Vilnius) and some pentart sprays - copper and gold colors. So these products helped me to create this card for steampunk lover. 

Card for Princess

I have really big family and thanks God, they like to get cards from me. At least they say that like :) So this card was creating specially for my niece. For a really tiny girl, who is sure that she is a Princess.

When I was creating this card, I had only basic things - gesso, structure paste and some acrylic paints (from prima  - I couldn't leave the last bottle of opal color) and watercolor paints :) Also in winter I bought some paper from Fabrika Dekoru :)

First mixed media cards

In the end of the March I have got one of the best Birthday present ever - tickets to Nadya Drozdova workshop in Latvia. It was two amazing days spent with person, whose works are just adorable. Inspired with lessons, papers, paints and of course new products bought after workshop, I was running back home to try to create on my own. 

So here are my first cards created with mixed media techniques:

To be honest, it is really hard to imagine how I was creating cards before. Without paint and texture pastes :)
